As the number of online threats rise, we too have to raise our level of protection and so we advise all our customers that they MUST have 2FA/MFA enabled for Office 365 if they want to remain protected from all potential online dangers.

Why Do We Advise It?

2FA/MFA on Office 365 is designed to protect your account from unauthorised access. Currently many users only have a username and password and if these are compromised then they allow full access to your account. 2FA/MFA introduces another form of authentication, much like providing a secondary password which is ever changing. This additional password can be generated from a mobile phone app, SMS message or even a phone call.

2FA/MFA is the only solution that will virtually guarantee you can prevent an email account from becoming compromised. If a user was to unknowingly hand over their credentials to an attacker – having 2FA/MFA in place would mean that the password would not be enough to gain control.

What should you do?

If you don’t currently use 2FA/MFA to protect your business and need further information please get in touch and we’ll be happy to advise.

If you already have this in place, please use this opportunity to check that your team and in particular any new members are protected. If you don’t know how to do this, please give us a call and we can do it for you.

With so much fraud now, we can think of no genuine reason not to have this as phishing scams are probably the biggest threat to your company and one of the easiest to prevent!
